In the Screwtape Letters C.S. Lewis wrote, "There are two equal and opposite errors into which the human race can fall about demons (devils). One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them." Those who disbelieve look for a natural explanation in psychology or medicine to explain every unusual human behavior. Then those that are in error with the unhealthy interest, give credit to demonic forces for every violent, sinful, or perverse human deed.
I totally agree with something my Pastor always says, "I can cast demons out, but I cannot cast your flesh out of you." Far to many Christians will blame demonic activity when it is nothing more than the carnal/fleshly nature at work. The individual needs to do what the Word of God tells us "confess and repent of their sins, and turn from their wicked ways."
If there is demonic activity, then the Word of God can be used to drive the demons out.
Philippians 2:9-11 9. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10. That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Colossians 2:15 "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."
