As parents, the Word of God gives us instructions on rearing our children. I love God's Promises, because I know they will never fail.
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
This verse shows us two things in rearing our children. The first is the command, “Train up a child in the way he should go," and the second is our Promise from God that,”when he is old he will not depart from it.”
As parents we are to dedicate, instruct, and motivate our children to do what God has equipped them to be and to do. This is what the Word tells us:
Psalm 139:16 16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed, And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. May I say that as a parent I brought my daughter up according to the Bible's instructions and even though, in later years she backslid on the Lord, I know that I have the Promises of God to stand on. I know how much I love her but I know that God's love is greater than mine could ever be.
Father, I pray now for every parent that they would bring their children up to know You, to Love You, and to serve You. Also I pray for that parent whose child may have gone astray from the Ways of the Lord. Father help them to stand on Your Word and refuse to be moved from it. No matter what they see their child do, Your Word will not return to You void, and it will do exactly what You said it would do.
Blessings to you, Judy at Seeking Prayer
