How can we know the Will of God? We know God's Will through His Word. There is a saying I heard made by a Pastor years back, and it is this “God's Will is His Word and His Word is His Will.” The Will of God is for every Christian to live their lives in conformity to His revealed Will that is in His Word.
Because the Bible is God's Will, then we must apply it to our lives. There are Commands we must obey, principles we must follow, things that are prohibited that we must avoid. Our lives should reflect what the Bible tells us to do.
A couple of examples of this is that when the Bible tells us to live Holy lives
(see Hebrews 12:14), then we must live Holy lives and separate ourselves from all sin. Another would be that when the Bible tells us to humble ourselves
(see James 4:10) then we know that we must obey, because the opposite of being humble is to be lifted up in pride
(See Proverbs 6:17 God hates pride).
I encourage you to take an Exhausted Concordance and do word searches on any thing that you might have questions concerning if it is God's Will or not. If you do not have an Exhausted Concordance in book form, then you can go to the following website and do word searches (
http://www.biblegateway.com).
Psalm 40:8 “I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart.”
Psalm 119:11 “Your Word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”Father, I pray that every person that reads this will search Your Word diligently and that each of them will become a student of the Word. Thank you Father for the written, spoken, and Living Word of God!
Blessings to you,
