As Christians we should always seek Wisdom that is given by God and not the Wisdom that is of the world. The Bible tells us this:
James 1:5-6 5.If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6.But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
Then we see in I Corinthians 3:19-20 what the Bible says about the Wisdom that is of the world.
19.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”; 20.and again, “The LORD knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”
One of the greatest examples of a man asking for Wisdom, comes from the Old Testament, when King Solomon asked the Lord for Wisdom above anything. (Please see I Kings 3:5-12).
When we ask the Lord for His Wisdom, we have the Promises from the Word of God, that will never fail us.
Proverbs 2:6-12 6.For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7.He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; 8.He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. 9.Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path. 10.When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, 11.Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you, 12.To deliver you from the way of evil,
I pray that those who are in need of Wisdom about decisions you must make, that you would ask the Lord in Faith for that Wisdom. The Bible tells us this in Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
Blessings to you, Judy at Seeking Prayer
