I pray that what I share with you concerning times of discouragement in my own life in the past will help you to be set free from it.
Each time that I took my focus off the Lord and began to focus on the circumstances that I was facing, discouragement would set in. As I put my focus on the circumstances my time in prayer, reading and studying the Bible became slack. Discouragement would quickly steal my joy and peace.
But thanks be unto God that He is Faithful to His Word that tells us in Hebrews 13:5 "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
II Timothy 2:13 "If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself."
A definite way to overcome Discouragement is to do what the Bible tells us that King David did in I Samuel 30:6 "And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
As we do what Philippians 4:8 tells us, then we know that we can and will have the promise in Isaiah 26:3 "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
I declare in the name of Jesus and the Power of His Blood, that you are an Overcomer. Shake off discouragement and Encourage yourself in the Lord. Praise and Worship Him. Pray. Read and study your Bible everyday, attend Church faithfully.
Blessings to you from the Seeking Prayer Group,
Judy
