According to Easton's 1897 bible dictionary it says that the "gall of bitterness" expresses a state of great wickedness, and references Acts 8:23 "For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity."
It also calls bitterness a wicked person or a dangerous sin in Hebrews 12:15 "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defile." But thanks be unto God, bitterness, is like other sins and is forgivable. We must confess the sin, repent of it, and turn completely away from it.
Colossians 3:14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.
