The Word of God gives us hope and the promise that if we backslide after receiving Salvation we can return to the Lord.

I John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
I John 2:1 "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world."

Jeremiah 3:22 "Return, you backsliding children and I will heal your back slidings."
