I am requesting prayer for my best friend of many years. She has been a Christian for about 25 years, very devout. Her husband is not saved. She has been having a lot of health issues, and she learned that the medications she needs will not be covered on her husbands insurance. She is no longer able to work. She has been scared about what the future holds for her. Her husband has not been understanding about her health. He tends to get angry, I think because he is frustrated that she is in pain and there is nothing he can do. Plus he does not have the personality of a 'caregiver'. She has been worried that as her health continues to deteriorate there will be days that she must rely on him to help her stay clean, or change her.

In this time of concern; spiritual, financial, and physical, she happened to meet her high school sweetheart. They shared their Christian faith. She learned that he had also had some severe health problems...they even share some of the same medications. He is a widower. They started talking, spending time together, and she says she has fallen in love with him, and that he loves her. She told her husband that she wanted a divorce. She has moved in with the old high school sweetheart. They are sharing a two bedroom apartment. She said that they are not sleeping together...but they are romantic toward one another. She has also said that once her divorce is final, she and her old friend are planning to marry. IF his insurance will cover her prescriptions. If his insurance does not, she will need to stay on the Medicaid that she will be eligible for as a single person. She said if that happened they would live as husband and wife by becoming 'hand clasped' rather than having a 'legal' marriage. One of the main concerns I have with all of this is the wonderful prayer time she says she and her Christian boyfriend share. She is so happy to have someone she can share bible study time with. She says the Holy Spirit is so strong in her home now. This I can not understand.

I have told her that she can no longer come to my home. I love her but I have an unsaved step-daughter living here. My step-daughter knows my friend, knows that she is a Christian, and I can't have my friend showing such a Christian example as a woman who lives with a man in a romantic relationship that she is not married to. My friend said she understands, but now she has cut off all contact with me. no calls, no email no Facebook contact...Nothing. I am worried about her. I love her and I miss her.

My dear sister in Christ, you are a good friend to this woman. You are right not to allow that spirit of adultery to enter your home. The Lord will give you encouragement in your prayer time, take this time in your life to get closer to Jesus.
The spirit of divorcement and adultery are rampid in our Churches, because we see so many pastors on TV and even in our churches, saying that God told them it was alright to leave their spouses and marry some one more spritual. We know and understand by the word of God, there is nothing in the bible that justifies this belief.
Your friend is in trouble with God and so is the man she is living with. Pray for their spritual eyes to be opened, and their souls be returned back to Jesus as they repent and walk away from sin.

God can and will change this, if we stand in the gap for our loved ones.

Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion: And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which will feed you with knowledge and understanding. Jeremiah 3:14&15[/color]

Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing to hard for Me? Jeremiah 32:27

Dear heavenly Father, we come to you in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for this woman's friend, we pray that you have mercy upon her, convict her Holy Spirit, that she shall run to You repenting and turning quickly from sin.
Please Lord Jesus help her dear friend to stay firm on your word, and that she become stronger in you as she prays for others. Thank you Lord, for we know your word never changes and You hear the cries of you children. In the name of Jesus, the name that is above every name: every thing has a name, but Your name is Holy and Mighty, Ever lasting God. Thank You Lord that Your mercies are new every morning. Amen
